all of you chicagoians should come to our next opening JULY 20th, the show is called I AM THE WALRUS. see some badass contemporary art and see me working the wine and beer table.
I AM THE WALRUS! is a group show of visual artists who confidently identify themselves outside of the parameters of reality. Working beyond visuality, these artists recast referents to Modern language about painting. Though varied departure points, these artists vilify canonized ideas about abstraction, image, material, and process. Hence, Lennons lyrics are redrawn: The lines between us and them, reality and nonsense, rebellion and rule become evermore apparent. Yet indeed I am still the walrus! The resulting work is perfectly contemporary, a necessary investigation of how we distortedly perceive meaning and critical inquiry within the visual arts.
come be seen. come get drunk. oh and see trippy artwork.
